How to get from Nice to Villefranche-sur-Mer?

The fastest way is the regional train (TER): Nice-Ville to Villefranche-sur-Mer takes only 7 minutes (€3.50), and the station is a short walk from both the Old Town and Plage des Marinières.

You can also take the local bus (about 15 minutes), hop on the hop-on-hop-off bus, cycle the scenic Mont Boron road, or even walk the Sentier du Littoral from Nice’s Port in around 90 minutes.

I often cycle over just to spend a few lazy hours on Plage des Marinières, it’s the perfect place to relax.
  • Enjoy an aperitif at La Grande Cave de Villefranche.
  • Dine at one of the seafront restaurants or at the rooftop terrace of Bistro de l’Étoile or Mayssa Beach.
  • Take a nightcap at the Trinquette Jazz Club or at Achill’s rooftop terrace.
  • Take the bus or train back to Nice under the stars (the last trains run until around 10 pm in the off-season and around midnight in high season).
