A quick word about family hotels in Nice
Don’t go expecting family resorts in Nice. The hotels in Nice listed here are family-friendly but don’t have the bells and whistles of island-style resorts. Nice is a city, after all. Some hotels in Nice have a swimming pool, a private beach club, or Mediterranean views, but most don’t. If that’s not what you’re looking for, then one of these French Riviera beach resorts might be more your style.
As part of my French Riviera travel planning support, I offer a package that matches you with the perfect place to stay. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the endless accommodation options, this might be just what you need.
Booking in advance is important for any family vacation. Still, when traveling to a destination like Nice, where family rooms are super scarce, it’s absolutely crucial to secure a room before the booking season kicks off. I often book my family room 10 months in advance of the trip to avoid disappointment.
For my curated collection of hotels with family rooms in Nice, France, I divided the units by size and type: There’s a category for spacious family rooms, one for smaller family rooms, and one for connecting rooms.
Psst… At the end of this article, you’ll find a map showing the locations of all the Nice family hotels on this list.
Family-friendly hotels in Nice with spacious rooms (+30 m2 or +323 ft2)
In my experience as a frequent family traveler, family rooms need two things: adequate bedding and space to move around. That’s exactly what you’ll find in the hotels in this category.
In addition to hotel rooms, this list also includes apart-hotel units that provide on-site hotel-style service. It excludes furnished apartments with on-call service, for which I refer you to my selection of vacation rentals in Nice or the L’Abeille Boutique Apartments booking page.

3. Palais Ségurane Boutique Hotel

I stayed here during my most recent winter getaway and appreciated the spacious layout of the rooms, the warm design, and the kitchen. There are family suites for every budget!
This grand historic property, once the private residence of a noble family, now infuses modern elegance into spacious accommodations for 4 to 8 people. Family suits range from cozy 32 m² (344 ft2) to generous 80 m² (861 ft2) layouts. Some rooms feature charming balconies with Castle Hill views, perfect for enjoying morning coffee while the kids prepare for the day.
Located just steps from Place Garibaldi and Port Lympia, families enjoy easy connections to Nice’s best attractions while staying in this cozy setting. The hotel’s unique private theater offers a special family treat: Book an exclusive movie screening for your clan after a day of exploring the French Riviera.
I stayed here!
And, therefore, I can vouch for this hotel. I loved the spacious room layout, the separated vanities, the kitchen, the little balcony, the wonderful service, the effortless booking process for the wellness and the cinema room, and the delicious à la carte breakfast. I did have to ask for a pair of ear plugs the front desk to deal with the nightly street noise in the corner suite.
Here are some photos of my stay (the ones in the room were taken at night). For reference, I stayed in room 209 with my husband on one of a rare couple’s getaway. So, the room in my photos is a Junior Suite with Balcony for two people.
4. Hyatt Regency Palais de la Méditerraneée

Behind its stately Art Deco facade along the Promenade des Anglais lies this family-friendly gem. The location, right across from the beach and a block from the Old Town, is perfect for a stay with kids. My family really loves the generous breakfast buffet here. It’s served in the Mediterranean-facing atrium with its inviting plunge pool.
A huge bonus for families traveling with teens is that the policy considers children up to 17 as kids! The Deluxe Room offers views of either the courtyard or the city and features a balcony. With its size of 45 m2 (484 ft2) and two queen beds, it’s perfect for families with 2 kids.
Other room types available for families are the connecting Family Room and the Prestige Sea View Suites. I do feel that the rooms lack inspired design. However, this fact is compensated by the exceptional service for which I can personally vouch after numerous stays.
I stayed here!
And, therefore, I can vouch for this hotel. I loved the spacious room layout and the spacious bathroom. The bed is wide enough so that our girls had enough space to themselves. The Italian concierge is amazing, he took the time to figure out the best transportation options to nearby destinations with kids, looked up the timetables, and more.
Here are some photos of my family stays in spring of 2022 and summer of 2024. I don’t have a photo from the room, though, only from breakfast and dinner.

Particularly suitable for families with small children, it features a spacious bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. It’s a practical detail that simplifies bathing routines for parents of little ones.
Family-friendly hotels in Nice with small family rooms (-30 m2 or -323 ft2)

While I appreciate hotels’ intentions when creating a family room in a small space, families need more than adequate bedding. They also need space to move around.
Unfortunately, rooms smaller than 30 m2 or 323 ft² are hardly ever functional for a family with two active kids and the extra luggage that comes with it, unless they have a well-thought-out layout.
These family rooms might be a good option if you’re only traveling with one child or spending just one day in Nice before moving on to your next destination.
Here’s an overview of smaller family rooms in Nice, most of which accommodate up to 4 family members:
Note that most of these rooms have a sleeping sofa and no actual beds, which might be important to know if your kids are a little bigger.
Family-friendly hotels in Nice with connecting rooms

This room arrangement does offer space, more so than some of the family rooms in my selection.
However, it mostly comes down to paying for two rooms, which is exactly what most families try to avoid.
Plus, most often, the doors can’t stay open, which defeats the purpose of staying in one room. I’ve stayed in such rooms with my family, and the constant opening and closing of the doors is anything but sufficient. And blocking them with a suitcase or such isn’t practical either.
But if you’re traveling with teenagers who don’t need your constant attention, this can be a good option for your family.
