My selection of dreamy boutique hotels in Nice
For this article, I focus exclusively on small hotels in Nice that offer a unique, more personalized service than your regular hotel. Some featured rooms come with the bonus of a jacuzzi or ocean views to bring romance to your couples’ getaway.
Remember to book well in advance, especially for peak season, as the best properties fill quickly. Note that most of these boutique hotels in Nice are located in historic buildings and, as a result, standard rooms tend to be on the smaller side. Choosing a room in a higher category will make your stay more comfortable.
If you’re still deciding which part of Nice suits your travel style best, my Nice travel guide brings together neighborhood overviews, beaches, day trips, and practical tips so you can choose the right base before booking.
If you’re big on breakfast, like I am, I’d recommend against booking it in advance. In my experience, the breakfast at many small city hotels in the South of France tends to be very basic. So, it might be worth checking out on the spot if it’s to your liking.
Without further ado, here’s my curated collection of dreamy boutique accommodations in Nice, France.
Psst… At the end of this article, you’ll find a map showing the locations of all the Nice boutique hotels on this list.
1. La Pérouse Nice

This is one of my favorite boutique hotels in Nice. I love the Mediterranean atmosphere, stellar service, endless sea views, and intimate patio. The location can’t be beat!
Perched atop Castle Hill with the glistening Mediterranean at its doorstep, Hotel La Pérouse offers an unparalleled vantage point for experiencing the charm of Nice.
This boutique property seamlessly blends Provençal elegance with contemporary comforts, creating an intimate sanctuary just steps from the Old Town, Port, and beaches of Nice.
The hotel’s soft-toned decor and thoughtful design evoke the authentic spirit of the French Riviera. Unwind on the lush rooftop terrace, which overlooks the sparkling Baie des Anges, or explore the jasmine-scented courtyard. The heated outdoor pool provides a refreshing respite during the spring and summer months.
The Executive Sea View room invites guests to soak up the sun from their private balconies or terraces. These beautifully appointed accommodations feature the hotel’s signature soft color palette, accented by locally sourced furnishings and luxurious linens.
I stayed here!
And, therefore, I can vouch for this hotel. Pros are the fabulous location, the cozy rooms with their unique little touches, the balcony nestled against Castle Hill, the personalized service, the amazing Le Patio restaurant with its intimate courtyard, the panoramic rooftop, and the beautiful pool (although it was too cold for swimming in the off-season). Cons are the bath-shower combo, the hotel’s maze-like layout with corridors, elevators, and stairs, and the small gym.
Secret tip: If you want the luxury view without paying for a luxury suite, then ask for superior room 505!
Here are some photos of my stay (the ones in the room were taken at night and the ones in the courtyard during the winter season). For reference, I stayed in room 506.
2. Palais Ségurane Boutique Hotel Nice

I stayed here during my most recent winter getaway and appreciated the spacious layout of the rooms, the warm design, and the kitchen.
Nestled amidst the charm of Vieux Nice, it places you just steps away from the vibrant markets, charming cafes, and winding cobblestone streets that have made this neighborhood a beloved destination.
The Palais Ségurane Boutique Hotel infuses modern elegance in a grand historic property that was once the private residence of a noble family. Enjoy a delicious homemade treat in the bar, or book yourself a private spa session in the wellness area or a private movie in the hotel’s very own theater.
The Ségurane Suite features a private jacuzzi bath for a moment of bliss and indulgence. A private balcony overlooking Castle Hill provides another peaceful spot to unwind and spend some quality time with your loved one.
I stayed here!
And, therefore, I can vouch for this hotel. Pros are the spacious room layout, the separated vanities, the kitchen, the little balcony, the wonderful service, the effortless booking process for the wellness and the cinema room, and the delicious à la carte breakfast. Cons were the nightly street noise (I had a corner suite), the stained carpet, and the fact that Bolt didn’t always seem to find my location (two incidents where I had the driver on the phone to explain where to pick me up).
Tip: Ask ear plugs at the reception desk upon check-in for a solid night’s sleep.
Here are some photos of my stay (the ones in the room were taken at night). For reference, I stayed in room 209.
